Without this service, you’re left vulnerable to unwanted events and unexpected costs while on the road with your RV. Adding roadside assistance to your insurance plan gives you the ability to effectively plan your travels. You're able to get where you need to be, even in the event of a breakdown. If your RV is unable to run, all you need to do is call for help.

What does roadside assistance cover?

Roadside service covers you during your travels in a vehicle. You’re covered in all of the following situations:

  • Driving your own RV
  • Driving someone else’s RV
  • You’re a passenger in an RV

Your service with RV roadside assistance extends to your travels throughout the US or Canada, with mechanics and representatives available 24/7.

For example, once you become a Progressive RV roadside assistance member, your benefits include the following:

  • Towing: You get towing to your nearest gas station, insurance approved auto repair shop, or your preferred mechanic. The amount of miles you get vary, depending on which membership option you choose. Membership plans typically cover between 100-200 miles of RV towing.
  • Flat tire service: If your tire pops or goes flat, you get them inflated or changed on request.
  • Emergency fuel delivery: If you’re stuck without fuel, you get a fuel delivery. The amount is enough to get you to the nearest gas station.
  • Car battery service: If your RV’s battery breaks or fails to start, you get jump-started or an emergency battery replacement.
  • Mechanical first-aid: If your RV isn’t running, you get on-the-spot minor repairs. This excludes auto part replacements or supplies.
  • Locksmith service: Did you lock your keys in your RV? Roadside assistance helps you to regain access inside your vehicle.

How does RV roadside assistance work?

If your RV breaks down for any reason, you’re able to call roadside service for help. This service is open to you 24 hour hours a day, seven days a week. It applies to all RVs that you drive, whether you're the passenger or the driver, and provides services anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.

To get RV roadside assistance, you typically need a membership card and an authorized photo ID. For example, these are the minimum requirements for AAA RV roadside assistance, and typically apply to most providers.

You’re ordinarily offered three different plans to choose from, such as Standard, Platinum and Premium. Your benefits vary, depending on which plan you choose. The costs are usually very affordable, being between $65-$199 per year.

There are sometimes extra costs for labor-intensive repairs or services. For example, an enduring battery replacement or extra towing miles.

You get to call for emergency services using three different methods:

  1. Call your RV insurer’s hotline
  2. Apply for service online
  3. Use your insurer’s mobile app
